Member of Ukrainian Parliament Valeriy Pysarenko, together with the site “Segodnya”, summed up the work of the Parliament in 2018:
"Unfortunately, the Parliament at this session was engaged exclusively in preparation for the elections. And not in the context of technical training, what should have been done firstly. For example, to solve the problem of using electronic documents that are issued to people instead of a passport. As of today, no corresponding changes have been made to the Law and, I think, we will do this, as usual, on the last day, when the election campaign will be at full blast. Technical issues are not solved by the Parliament, but political issues are being resolved and on the big boards.
Unfortunately, this year could not become a turning point in the reform plan. Although at the beginning of the year it was expected that issues with land reform, pension and so on would be solved. But significant changes did not happen."
