Greening of the energy sector is one of the most ambitious and complex reforms that Ukraine is implementing today.
It was announced by Member of Ukrainian Parliament, Vice-chairman of the Bureau of the Group of Experts on Renewable Energy and Vice-chairman of the Bureau of the Group of Experts on Energy Efficiency of the UNECE Committee on Sustainable Energy, Valeriy Pysarenko during the session of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe in Astana.
As part of the discussion on the theme of the session "Synergy of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy", the Parliamentarian told about the Ukrainian experience and mentioned that the development of renewable energy sources along with the introduction of energy saving and energy efficiency measures is not forced action, it is the principle of life of Ukrainians.
"We invest a lot in finding of new sources of energy and in switching to renewable energy. As energy, that we do not consume is by definition the cheapest, safest and most sustainable source that we will ever find. In my opinion, energy efficiency is the fastest and cleanest solution to meet energy demand in the future, it is the same source of energy as any other option on the market today, like conventional fuels, "- the Member of the Parliament said.
Valeriy Pysarenko presented the participants of the Dialogue with the strategy of greening the energy sector of Ukraine and expressed the hope that "thanks to participation in the International Energy Forum and EXPO -2017, Ukraine will take one more confident step in implementing the energy reform and in the transition to a sustainable world on which our future life depends".
