Member of Ukrainian Parliament Valeriy Pysarenko proposes to conduct an audit of utility rates in all regions of Ukraine.
He stated this during a meeting of the Conciliatory Council of the leaders of the factions of Verkhovna Rada.
He noted that for this purpose, the People's Deputies from the political forces registered in Parliament a Draft Resolution No. 9252 “On conduction of an audit of the reasonableness of prices and tariffs for housing and communal services”. Member of Ukrainian Parliament called to consider it in the nearest future in the session hall.
"The Deputy Group "Vidrodzhennya" proposed two solutions to this problem. First, we have registered in the Parliament a draft decree on the need for an audit on tariffs. To understand what our situation is in general. Because, as we see in the statement of the chairman of National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission, a lot of facts of unjustified overstatement of tariffs on the ground were revealed. In some regions - even 70%. If now we are still raising tariffs, then by doing so we only create conditions for corruption and enrichment at the local level of certain people who today sit on this tariff field,"– Mr. Pysarenko said.
He added that the second initiative proposed by the Draft Resolution No. 9252 from the Deputy Group "Vidrodzhennya" concerns taking into account the cost of own production of gas and the introduction of a moratorium on further tariff increases when setting the price for blue fuel.
"Our second initiative is to oblige the Cabinet of Ministers to consider the issue that politicians have been talking about over the past years, namely, to consider a plan for using own gas for the needs of the population. We produce enough gas so that people do not pay such a high payments. We propose: let's adopt our resolution, give appropriate instructions to the government, and until that moment we will introduce a moratorium on further tariff increases. We will give 100% of the vote for such an offer. I think this will help to improve the current situation, "- said Member of the Deputy Group " Vidrodzheniya".
