Member of Ukrainian Parliament Valeriy Pysarenko participates in Singapore Cooperation Programme in Course “Singapore`s Anti-Corruption Strategies” in Singapore Civil Service College.
From May 29 to June 2, the parliamentarian will get acquainted with the successful experience of fighting against corruption via example of Singapore. And he`ll also consider the system of factors that contributed to the removal of the state from the crisis: effective anti-corruption legislation; effective administrative measures; establishment of the Bureau of Investigation of Corruption.
"Many countries are struggling against bribery, but there are so few outstanding examples as in Singapore. So studying one of the most successful anticorruption practices in the world is very important for Ukraine, where corruption has become a serious problem of social development," - Valeriy Pysarenko believes.
According to Valeriy Pysarenko`s words, Singapore is a country that has defeated corruption in just over 40 years and is now the least corrupt state all over the world. And it`s positive experience shows that a combination of effective work of criminal justice bodies, anti-corruption laws, judicial system and administrative measures are necessary for effective combatting corruption.
"It is not possible to apply and completely transfer the experience of a small Singapore to Ukrainian, as the states differ: different scales, different conditions, different mentality, but it is quite possible to apply in Ukraine much of what the Singaporeans managed to do in their country," – the Member of Ukrainian Parliament notes.
