The Draft Law on protection of housing rights of students-settlers is ready for adoption as the Law

06.07.2018

The Draft Law of Valeriy Pysarenko on the protection of housing rights of students-settlers No. 6142 was prepared for the second reading and recommended for adoption as a whole as a Law.

This decision was made by Members of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Human Rights, National Minorities and Interethnic Relations.

The first edition of the draft law was almost unchanged.

The main amendment that was made to the document is concerning the provision of housing for students-settlers within 6 months from the end of the educational institution.

Now, instead of providing the opportunity to live in dormitories where students were registered during their studies, they will be compensated for renting housing within six months after graduation.

Members of the Committee also recommended to add to the document that financing of the rent is made monthly in the form of a cash payment and the procedure for determining its size and payment will be set by the Cabinet for the relevant budget period.
