Member of Ukrainian Parliament, Valeriy Pysarenko asks the Cabinet of Ministers to cancel the value-added tax on the import of baby diapers.
The parliamentarian has already sent the corresponding appeal to Prime Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groysman.
"The main goal of this decision is cost-cutting of diapers for consumers, rather than increase of profitability for suppliers." More than 90% of sold diapers at the Ukrainian market are imported from abroad, so that one of the ways to reduce the cost of imported diapers is to release suppliers from taxation of value added tax, "- Member of the Parliament explains.
Valeriy Pysarenko gave a ground for his initiative by the fact that parents are able to purchase only two packs of baby diapers of medium quality for monthly financial aid of 860 UAH for the birth of a child, which is not enough especially for a newborn baby.
