Students-resettlers can be provided with temporary housing

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine can provide students-resettlers with the opportunity to live in hostels in which they were registered during their study within 6 months from the ending of course.

The corresponding norm is prescribed in the bill of Member of Ukrainian Parliament Valeriy Pysarenko "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine" on ensuring the Rights and Freedoms of Internally Displaced Persons "for the Protection of Student Housing Rights", which the Committee on Human Rights, National Minorities and Ethnic Relations decided to recommend to Parliament First reading.

According to words of the author of the initiative, today the legislation does not provide the way of solvation of the situation when students from the list of internally displaced persons after graduation remain without support from the state and face a choice - to become homeless at controlled territory or return to their homes in occupied Ukraine.

"The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has not yet developed the procedure for obtaining housing for internally displaced persons for temporary use, so I believe that the changes proposed by me will enable students to adapt: to find work, housing, and will guarantee the right to receive social benefits for internally displaced persons" , - summed up by Valeriy Pysarenko.
