Supporting the reform of the Ministry of Education about the transition to electronic textbooks, Member of Ukrainian Parliament Valeriy Pysarenko asks the Cabinet of Ministers to create a unified state Internet resource "Electronic textbook".
Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Science and Education is already considering corresponding decree.
"At the beginning of the academic year (September 1) "The Internet resource" Electronic textbook" will contain current information on the educational literature recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, for usage in general schools in the relevant academic year and its electronic copies. The Internet resource will work for free and should provide access to information by reading, copying and printing it, " - stated in the document.
Valeriy Pysarenko proposes to determine general requirements for the electronic version: correspondence with the content of the paper textbook, the inclusion of multimedia and interactive elements, compliance with safety rules and requirements for harmlessness for children's health, the usage of public formats and technologies.
According to the parliamentarian opinion, a unified state Internet resource with up-to-date electronic textbooks will provide unhindered access to the acquisition of a complete general secondary education.
"According to the current Ukrainian legislation on education, a complete general secondary education is obtained primarily through the usage of textbooks. However, at the beginning of the last academic year, there was a problem with the provision of textbooks for students of the 4th, 7th and 8th forms. Due to this fact, parents were forced to buy expensive textbooks for their own means, " - the Deputy explained.
In addition, according to Valeriy Pysarenko`s words, the possibility of the usage of electronic textbooks will let not to overload children with unacceptably heavy for their age school bags with textbooks.
