Restoring the constitutional rights of veterans of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for social benefits, the Government will simultaneously provide pension benefits for employees of the National Police. Such a statement made Member of Ukrainian Parliament Valeriy Pysarenko during a briefing in Verkhovna Rada.
The parliamentarian also announced that he and 46 of his colleagues - people's deputies have appealed to the Constitutional Court with a request to consider the legality of abolishing benefits to former policemen for payment of housing and communal services and for the use of housing.
According to Valeriy Pysarenko`s words, the state can not solve this issue for almost two years already.
"In 2015, when the National Police was established, the parliamentary majority adopted an unconstitutional decision to deprive the MVD pensioners of a 50% discount for utility bills, although at the time of retirement, the state guaranteed benefits for payment of the utility for life," - the deputy explained.
Valeriy Pysarenko believes that such guarantees can not be abolished by the state when new laws are adopted, in accordance with the Constitution of Ukraine.
"The illegality of such a decision has already been recognized by the courts in various regions of our country, however, judicial decisions are not being carried out. We are sure that the Constitutional Court will put an end to this issue. If not, we will turn to the European Court of Human Rights,"- Mr. Pysarenko concluded.
