Member of Ukrainian Parliament Valeriy Pysarenko offers to cancel checks of the actual place of residence of internally displaced persons for receiving pensions and social benefits.
"The checks, which became the basis for pension payments, turned into a problem for pensioners and tied them to a dwelling." The pension is a person's property, not state aid, so no one can take it. "The state takes pensions from the internally displaced persons. The same right to a pension, as well as pensioners from controlled territories, because they paid their contributions to the Pension Fund all their life, " - the Parliamentarian explains his initiative.
In the registered Draft Law "On Ensuring the Rights and Freedoms of Internally Displaced Persons" regarding the guarantee of the constitutional right to internally displaced persons for freedom of movement (No. 8630), Valeriy Pysarenko proposes to exclude provisions restricting internally displaced persons in the right to choose where to live, work and where to travel.
In addition, the process of physical identification in the place of forced residence of politicians calls humiliating and discriminatory for Ukrainian citizens who left their homes as a result of the armed conflict in the East of the country.
A decree that terminates the payment of a pension in the absence of a person at the indicated address for more than 60 days (and with the permission of the Social Protection Unit for more than 90 days), according to Valeriy Pysarenko`s words, violates the Constitution of Ukraine.
