The law, which obliges to equip many storeyed buildings with individual gas meters, will help to restore justice when charging public services for millions of Ukrainians.
It was stated by Member of Ukrainian Parliament, Valeriy Pysarenko, commenting on the adoption by the Verkhovna Rada of the draft law №5722-d "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine" on provision of commercial accounting for natural gas " regarding the procedure for setting meters to household consumers of natural gas."
325 People's Deputies voted for the adoption of the law.
As was mentioned by Valeriy Pysarenko, the Deputy Group "Vidrodzhennya" supported the draft law №5722-d, because it will help to reduce the cost of public services for residents of many storeyed buildings.
"At last, the rights of Ukrainians, who live in many storeyed buildings, will be restored." The house meters will now be installed only with their consent. "The procedure approved by the Cabinet of Ministers determines how the residents themselves can buy and install an flat meter, after which the cost of the device will be compensated for by tariffs, " - Valeriy Pysarenko explained.
The politician also added that the issue of individual gas meters is vital for millions of Ukrainian families.
"I just returned from Kharkiv: people are already groaning because they are not given the opportunity to pay fees for the objective volumes of consumed gas. There are some sums of money, some indicators that absolutely nobody understand, so the adoption of the law will change the situation with violation of the rights of people, when they were obliged to pay tariffs for the whole house in proportion to the flat. I think today the Verkhovna Rada made a small gift to the Ukrainians for the New Year, " – emphasized Member of Ukrainian Parliament.
