Free medicines for pregnant women-the initiative of Valeriy Pysarenko

05.06.2018

Valeriy Pysarenko, Member of Ukrainian Parliament, offers for pregnant women free provision of medicines and multivitamin complexes, which are necessary for the appropriate evolution of the child.

Politics explained his initiative by the fact that during the period of pregnancy the young family is not in a better financial position and often cannot buy all the medicines prescribed by the doctor.

As a result, the mortality rate among infants increases in the first days of life, and young children often begin to suffer from chronic diseases precisely because they have not been able to receive the necessary medications in a mother's womb.

Therefore, according to opinion of Valeriy Pysarenko, the state should take care of women throughout the whole pregnancy period.

In the list of free medicines the MP proposes to include:

  • - multivitamin complexes;
  • - medicines with high iron content;
  • - folic acid;
  • - preparations containing vitamin E;
  • - medicines containing iodine.

In order for a pregnant woman to receive medicines at the expense of the state budget, she needs to be registered for pregnancy.

The attending physician should prescribe the necessary medications after the inspection. If these medicines are on the list, guaranteed by the state, then the doctor writes them on a special form, which gives them the right to receive them free of charge at the pharmacy.
