The project of the First Ukrainian demonstrational Center for energy-saving technologies was presented to the member of the Ukrainian Parliament Valeriy Pysarenko by the staff members of Kharkiv National University of municipal economy, named after A. N. Beketov.
In the framework of the Students’ opportunities fair, the member of the Parliament visited the innovative laboratory of the University – solar power station with a capacity of 10 kW. Within the next two years its capacity will be increased to 40 kW. This is the first solar power station in Ukraine with such a capacity, installed in the governmental institution.
Project designers told about their plans to turn the academic building of the University with the area of 750 sq.m. into net zero energy building.
For this, they also plan to do thermal modernization of the building, to renew heating system using a heating pump, to incorporate power efficient lighting as well as to install automated energy sources control system inside the building.
“I am confident that within the next 5-10 years Ukraine will change the energy-saving technologies as our country has a high potential for generation of net energy for both internal usage and for export. Today we develop the country with new economy and I am happy that your University moves in the right direction and leads the way for others”, - stressed Valeriy Pysarenko.
According to the designers’ concept, the solar power station is intended not only for power supply for the University but also for the training of senior students as well as for carrying out scientific researches by the staff members of the facility.
At the premises of the laboratory-station, students can acquire new design skills and to learn how to serve this kind of installations. Independent testing of existing on the market developments will be also conducted here.
